Our Commitment to Sustainability

We love our planet, so we play our part.

Triniti Salon Sustainable Practices

Conservation, sustainability, and a fierce concentration on the greater good drives and motivates the Team at Triniti Salon. We are continually examining how we can make a smaller impact on the planet while making a positive impact on our communities around us. There is not an aspect of how we do business that is not scrutinized and the impact measured and evaluated to meet our high ethical standards.

Recycling & Composting

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE.

Our sustainability team went above and beyond recycling paper, plastics, and glass. We recycle and compost in our daily sustainability regimen.

Anything that is organic or recyclable material goes in the bin!

  • Hair
  • Hair Color Tubes
  • Highlight Foils
  • Paper, Plastic, Glass and more!

LBS of Hair Per Year

We recycle all the hair that is cut. This adds up to a lot of hair that is used to make long booms that are used in oil spill clean up.

LBS of ALUMINUM Per Year

Triniti Salon is equipped with recycling bins hair-color tubes and highlight foils.

LBS of COMPOST Per Year

Each year we generate and donate our organic materials to be used in community gardens.

Surface Hair Care Products

We looked long and hard for a Professional Salon Product Line that checked all the boxes.

The only products we were going to carry would have to be sustainably sourced from only natural ingredients. Animal testing is out of the question. They must be phosphate and paraben free. They must work!

We found Surface.

The name Surface comes from a passion to develop superior, all natural products that respect the surface of our earth and to create a strong surface of success from which salons and their guests can grow. Surface was founded on the promise of “Respecting Personal Health and the Earth”. They incorporate sustainably harvested ingredients and certified organic botanicals in all Surface products.

WHY STOP THERE?

A large part of living sustainably deals with the relationships people and businesses build between each other, and how these relationships are cultivated and strengthened. It is because we value you, we share our commitments with you. We are here to do our part. Give back and inspire beauty & kindness in the world.

Water Conservation

In any Salon water use is a must. However, waste is not. Team Triniti regards water as one of our most precious resources. Our shampoo bowls are all outfitted the a flow reducer. This mixes oxygen into the water. Significantly reducing the amount of water that is used. We also use laundry detergent that is 100% natural, safe for people, and the planet, & gentle enough for people who are sensitive to chemicals and scents. We care about what is going down the drain.

Energy Efficient Appliances

We carefully selected all of our electronics, computers, and appliances  with the energy star logo. We also purchased a high efficiency washer and dryer that saves water, and energy with every load of towels and salon capes that we wash!

Sustainable Decorating

Sharon Smith the owner of Triniti Salon was raised to value all things and waste nothing. Her vision for Triniti Salon was going to represent her values all the way, and she sticks to it each day. The reception desk is hand made from reclaimed 100 year old barn wood. The styling stations are repurposed jewelry armoires. The mirrors that hang in the salon were all salvaged and restored and painted by her mother and 80 year old grandmother. Mom and “GG” (grandma) went down to the local paint store and mixed and matched paint from the “mistakes” collection and painted the salon. For Sharon, this is not a trend, but a way of living.

Purified Filtered Water

The last thing we want to do is to add to an already enormous plastic waste issue. We have a convenient water filtration system to serve guests cold or hot water.

Staff Training

Each year two team members are selected to lead the team and the Salon in our commitment to recycling, lowered energy consumption, and reduced carbon footprint. We have regular meetings to evaluate how we are doing in reaching our environmental goals, and to train the staff about our consumption and creative ways to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact.

Paper Free

Our Team is always looking for creative ways to reduce paper use. When you visit Triniti Salon you will notice all or our tickets are laminated forms used with dry-erase markers. Another way we save our trees is only printing guest receipts when requested. Our guests love that we can email or text a receipt to them.

Salon Climate Control

To reduce the amount of energy used in the heating and cooling of the salon we installed programmable thermostat. We found out that by changing the temperature during our closed hours we are saving 7% on heating and cooling costs which translates into over 1,100 pounds of carbon dioxide each year!

Energy Saving Bulbs

In our first year of business we hired a 3rd party company to come in and perform an energy assessment. As a result of the assessment we made many changes. One of the big ones was changing out all of the light bulbs in the salon. We learned that the CFL bulbs that we installed last 10 times longer and use 66% less energy than the incandescent bulbs while delivering the same light levels. CFLs also reduce the release of greenhouse gas emissions and are safer because they burn at a much lower temperature than incandescent and halogen lights.

In our bathrooms we installed fixtures that are activated by a motion detector. We also installed dimmer switches in areas in which maximum lamp output is not necessary.
